Absense:

Having been currently ill for numerous days this week, i have been unable to help Tash. M with filming the  final part of the video on Wednesday 6th. Although, the bulk of the editing was finished a few days ago whilst i was still in school. Thankfully, she was able to film the last section of the video without me and tied the odd bits of the video, such as making sure the lip syncing was in order.

Last Bits of Editing/Finished

I filmed the last sequence which is the throwing Jack out scene. As part of our group was not in school, I organised another person to film for us instead and directed them as to what shots we needed. This only took about 15 minutes so the footage was ready to edit. It was imported it into FinalCut and I edited this which didn't take too long.
Also, a lot of the lip singing was out of sync so I put it all right which meant cutting a few clips or making them longer. I have made a few shots speeded up as it makes more of an impact to make the shots fit with the song and the beats. I have also created an ending on iMovie where the artist's name and song name appears which I felt would help establish the artist, this is conventional of a music video on TV channels. I also acted on the tips Ms Thrasher gave us on a few shots that needed to be changed, like a shot at the end of the quick sequence near the end of the video and edited it too so it kept up the speed of the video as I made the video have a faster pace near the ending so that it is a gradual video.

It is now all edited and I am about to upload it to YouTube as the the whole video is now finished!

Filming Postponed #2

We had planned to film the last bit (chucking Jack out scene) today, however, this had to be cancelled as one of the actors went home and we couldn't use another man as he had been in the rest of the video.
We have planned to do it on Wednesday where we have double Media so we can film in the first hour (even though this will only take roughly 20 minutes) and edit in the next. That means after this, all the filming will be complete.
So the new filming list is:

Date to film: Wednesday 6th April
Time: 9:50am - 9:30am
People needed: The Group plus Jamie, Michael and Jack
Location: Under the stairs (interrogation room)

The rest is the same as the earlier list.

Filming!

Yesterday, we re-filmed the chorus in the drama rooms, we used the specialist lights for this to make it look more professional, as our feedback from the showcase suggested that our current chorus (which was plain in-front of curtains) didn't look very professional. This made a huge impact and the footage looks so much better. We were able to do this in the space of one hour as I got ready and turned the lights on during form time, so this was so successful within the time provided.

We also re-shot the beginning of the video as we realised the continuity wasn't great as we had a flood light in some sections whereas in others, it only used the light from a small lamp, also in this location we filmed the walking down bit again as last time my flower was on the wrong side of my head! So now, the whole first section's continuity is corrected and looks so much better. We also filmed some shots of the artist getting ready (putting make-up/shoes on) which we want to put quick edits in at the beginning when she is walking down the stairs because the music is jumpy so gives us a lot of room to do some fast edits instead of just plainly walking down stairs.

In the third lesson, we filmed the artist and the male together (before he cheated on her) just on a normal school day sitting on a bench and walking and running around a field, just generally being young and happy. We thought this would be good to put in the montage at the end.

We had a small amount of time left so we went and filmed Jack in the french corridors again and the artist lip singing, which we were supposed to do on Monday however, this has given us more time to do the last bits of editing.

So this was a very busy filming day (3hours) and we were knackered by the end of it, but we have all our shots now! Apart from the last tiny bit where the guys throw the main guy out, which we hopefully should be filming on Monday! We will be staying after school to do our last editing so we are able to have the very best outcome for our deadline!

Friday 1 April 2011

Footage Editing:

As the video completion deadline is coming to a closure, i have made sure that every opportunity for editing the footage is taken. Today, the group (and jack for an hour) did three hours of filming in the drama studio and out on the fields for our montage of shots and in order to re do the chorus, which was successful.

Therefore, i have spent two hours today uploading the footage and have begun editing the footage onto the video outline. However, i feel that this will take some time and that the group will have to take lots of time editing the footage together to make sure that the editing is approved by the whole group in terms of agreeing on effects and to make sure certain shots are approved.

Filming: Redoing the Chorus

We will be re doing the chorus as people thought that our costumes were repetitive in the video and also that the curtain behind wasn't very professional. This can be filmed tomorrow period 1 as that is the only time it is free.

Date to film: Friday 1st April
Time: 8:50am - 9:50am
People needed: ALL OF GROUP (no extras)
Location: Drama room (booked)

Props/Items we need to take:
- Video Camera

- Medium shot
- Wide shot
- Singing to camera
- Singing to audience
- Pan shot
- Shot of 'rocking out'
- Shots of walking around stage whilst singing

Filming: Extra shots for second verse

After editing this section, I found that we needed many more shots for this section as it was not fully complete. Therefore, the group has decided to film extra shots for this section

Location: French corridors, the white wall
Time: 13:00 to 14:00
People: All of the group/ Jack, Jamie and Michael

Shots:
- Artist walking around Jack and lip - syncing
- Shot of artist walking back to actors
- Jack/Gaga shot
- Artist doing "roar" to the song better

Filming: Re shooting beginning

The group is deciding to re shoot the beginning of the video with the artist walking into the dungeon tomorrow. This is because we have shot that section in different sections, which as a result, the lighting is considerably different:

Date: Friday 1st April
Location: Under school stairs (dungeon)
Time: 10:00 to 11:00
People: All of the group (no extras needed)

Shots needed:
- Medium shot of the artist lip - syncing
- Back of the artist walking down stairs
- Tracking shot of artist from the side
- Quick shots of the artist "preparing" herself - (make up, shoes, clothing)

REMEMBER: Hair accessory needs to be on the right side and her hair needs to be up!!

Filming: shots for the montage

We are still deciding when to film the last bit of the video with the "guy" being kicked out the door

We have decided to do a montage of shots, specifically with the artist and the "guy, reflecting their past before the problem. We plan to film this tomorrow:

Date: Friday 1st April
Location: Field/around the school
Time: 9:45 to 10:45
People: All of the group and Jack

Shots:
- Close up shots
- Medium shots
- Far shot/talking to each other
- Holding hands

We will also implement shots from other sections, such as the chorus, the "dungeon", the line up, the shots in the field etc we will make sure that the artist is singing in all sections so that when we come to editing, we will have a variety to choose from

Wednesday 30 March 2011

Showcase for our video:

Yesterday, our group showed our media class our current unfinished version of our music video in order for critical feedback. We had numerous feedback for our video, some positive and some negative, nonetheless, this can still be edited. The majority of people felt that the video and camerawork was good, but felt that our chorus's need re - filming and that we should put different costumes on the artist.

As a result, the group has decided to do lots of re filming this week and next week, which has given us lots of new ideas such as a montage of shots from throughout the video, all placed at the end of the video.

This is the video that was showed, it has black screens in places where the footage has not yet been uploaded:

Next Filming Slot Response

Dear Natasha D,

Okay cool that would work, tomorrow we can film the parts with just me for the first period and edit second so that what we have is created well for the showcase.

On Friday, we have 2 hours so we should be able to film everythng we need to with Jack so hopefully the video will be finished by Wednesday 3rd period including editing and everything!

Natasha McGowan

Editing current footage:

I have just finished editing the footage that we shot yesterday onto our video timeline and i feel that it is really coming together now. However, i am having a few worries regarding some shots that i don't feel are as good as some others such as the beginning verse where the lighting is considerably different. I think we need to re film them, but I am worried about the time that is available will not be enough. I am also able to see the odd little shots that we need, such as more shots of the artists face in the beginning of the second verse, in order to keep continuity.

Next filming slot:

Hey Tash. M,

Seeing as the group will have to showcase the video that we have currently for other people to evaluate tomorrow, i felt that we could film tomorrow morning, two hours before the showcase? We could shoot the beginning section of the video, with you walking down the stairs into the "dungeon"? Therefore, we will have a complete beginning of our video that we will not have to worry about.

Also, I thought that this friday, we could film the ending of the video with the "guy" being chucked out of the "dungeon"? We can do this during our double free on that day and hopefully we will be able to find two more people to act as our bodyguards.

Lastly, if we have Jack on friday (hopefully!) we could film random shots of the lips being fed to him by you, which we discussed a few weeks ago? I will make sure that we have the sweets by then, then we can thoroughly start editing the rest of the video so that it will be complete by the holidays?

Tash D.

Filming Verse 2

Today, we were able to find 3 guys to use in our music video however, the main guy couldn't make it so instead of changing the date again (which wouldn't be good as we have a deadline coming soon) we filmed it all without him, we should be filming with him in it asap.

However, the filming went well, we managed to get some good shots which we should be uploading on to the edit station tomorrow. Although, we didn't take the storyboard with us so we forgot to do a few shots, however, the shots we forgot can be done in our own time as we don't need other people for this.

Thursday 24 March 2011

New filming date:

With problems regarding location and extra actors, we have decided that we will definitely film next time, during lesson time. We have decided that by doing filming in lesson time, we can take people from our lesson to star as the extra people will be available. Also, the corridor which will be the new location of the second verse and will be empty as it is lesson time.

Therefore, filming will take place the coming Monday:

When: Monday 28th March
Location: French corridors, long white wall
Time: 1:10pm to 2:00 (preparation will take place during the lunch time before this)
Props:
-Actors
-chair
- black paper strips
- blue tack
- camera
- tripod
- phone (with song on it)

Shots:
- P.O.V shot from artist to guys
- Tracking shot of the men in line
- Medium shot of artist walking through doors
- Close up shot of artists face/actors face
- Very low angle shot from "guy" p.o.v

Filming Postponed

We were supposed to film today, however, the main guy couldn't make it so we couldn't film. We know we have a deadline coming up soon so we are going to try to find the next available date to film when we have got all our props, the actors and the location booked.
Instead, in this lesson time, we made the black strips to put in the background for our 2nd narration for the line up as they went missing from when we previously made them.

However, an idea that I came up with is that we could use the black strips across Jack as a postmodern version of Lady GaGa's dress:
This fits in with the interrogation theme we are going for and could be used at the end for our montage of quick fast shots. This dress is iconic so the postmodernism of the bars should be obvious. We could film it and see if it works or not?

Tuesday 22 March 2011

Location Change Again!

We realised that this time wouldn't be suitable for the actors so we searched around the school for about 20 minutes to search for a plain white wall that we could use instead which wouldn't need to be booked for a specific time.

We found the french corridors did the job, so we have decided we will film on Thursday 1st period as that time suits all of us!

Monday 21 March 2011

Booked the Location

Due to not being able to film last week as the Drama rooms were busy, we realised the best way to make our filming session successful would be to book the location first to avoid disappointment.

So we have just booked Thursday 24th March, period 5... all we need now is to find some male actors to be in the shoot

Update:

With being unable to film for our second verse lately due to the lack of male actors, i have been asking around friends and people i talk to if they would be willing to be our actors. Fortunately, i have been successful and have been able to find someone who has offered their time to be in it, although i still need to confirm with the person yet, which will probably later today. I will also ask if he is able to ask his close friends if they will accompany him to be in the video

Wednesday 16 March 2011

Unable to Film!

Unfortunately, we were unable to film today as our location (drama room) is being used for GCSE rehearsals. So to make sure we don't have another incident like this, we need to book a time with the drama teachers to book the space.
This has set us back in our planning but will be filming this scene asap and do as much editing as we can whilst we are waiting to film this last chorus.

Update:

I have just bought some black paper in order to make sure that the setting for the shoot in the afternoon today is ready. At the moment, i am beginning to cut the paper into strips with about an inch and a half; which will then be situated on the white wall that we will use in the drama studios, for our line up of the  different boys in the shoot

Change of Plan

Tasha D,

Me and Jack (the actor) have to go to a last minute school commitment tomorrow for half an hour after school so this may affect our filming time. However, you know how I did the setting last week whilst you were in class to save time? I feel this helped a lot so maybe it would be useful for you to do this tomorrow, if you want? Such as getting the camera (make sure it works) and the tripod (and whatever else is on the filming list). Just thought I'd write this on here incase you see this message before I see you tomorrow.

Idea Response

Natasha D,

Okay that's fine as the best videos usually have something different that gets people talking.
Also, did you manage to find the lip sweets? If so, can you bring them in on Wednesday please so we can film that scene with Jack.

Natasha M :)

Idea:

Hey Tash M,

I was thinking, looking at the video whilst editing, would you want to re shoot the chorus of the song at some point. i say this because the shots i feel have no uniqueness to them. I thought that by re doing the chorus, we could add more accessories to you maybe? or i was thinking adding paper lips or hearts in front of the fan so it blows in the air whilst your singing. It just gives something different to this section of the song

What do you think?

Tash D

Editing update:

I have currently started to add the clips that we filmed on Friday which is of the first verse of the song, onto the music video time line on the program "Final Cut".  I have therefore, got most of that verse completed. However, i am finding it difficult in terms of continuity that we haven't got enough diverse shots of the artist and the "guy" in that section.

I feel that the group could maybe do some more shots such as the zooming shot of the "guys" face which we could maybe have the guy do different facial expressions so that we can experiment with the editing. Also, in some shots, the artist is smiling and is not in role for the whole time which makes the editing harder. Therefore, i feel that we may have to re film certain parts of this section.

I feel that we need to have -
- Another shot of the artist slamming the table but keeping a straight face when doing it
- More individual shots of the "guy" such as his arms in the air/looking with lots of despair in his face
- A reaction shot of the guy jumping/acting surprised when the artist slams the table

Filming

Today was very useful as we finally had the 'guy' available to film the scene for the first verse. However, we came across troubles when a teacher told us we couldn't work where we were working due to health and safety reasons, incase there was a fire alarm. Although, it was okay because we had filmed enough of our scene.
We asked the 'guy' when he was next available to work with us for our next scene (the line-up) and we decided we would all be free to film on Wednesday after school. We were also able to find other boys to be in it on that day as there is a show in the evening so t is a good time for everybody. This is also a better time as it is after school so won't be in the way incase of a fire alarm as students won't be in school anymore.

Thursday 10 March 2011

Pictures

I've just printed the pictures of the 'guy' and the girl he cheats on the artist with. I got these from his Facebook account and he has given us permission to use them. So we have definitely got these. I am currently getting everything ready for our filming in a bit.

Filming for Interrogation Scene

We will definitely be able to film tomorrow as I have contacted Jack (actor playing the 'guy') and he will be able to make our required time. I will get ready during period one and set the scene so we are ready to start filming at our chosen time. Therefore, we should be able to film all of our interrogation scene in the 2 hours! (and lunch if needed)

Tuesday 8 March 2011

Change in filming plan:

The group has decided to change the filming day to Friday 11th instead of Thursday 10th. This is because for the section that we want to film of the music video, it needs to be filmed with the "guy" in the plot, therefore, we have to wait until Friday so that he is able to be on the shoot location with us as he will be available.

As a result the group have done another filming plan for the video shoot of Friday.

Planning of filming:

We have been unable to film recently due to unavailable time and people that we need. Therefore, we have made sure that we begin to start filming the majority of the video this week, more specifically, this thursday.

Location: In school, drama studios or/and underneath stairs (Dungeon)
Date: Thursday 10th March
Time: 15:30 to when filming is completed
Props: Camera, Camera tripod, Sweets, Clothes for the artist, Ipod, Ipod speakers, extension cables, a table, chairs

Shots:
- Close up shots
- Medium shots
- Low angle shots/High angle shots
- Tracking shots

What will be filmed:
We plan to film all the sections that needs the main "guy" of the video, such as under the stairs more and if we get time, we will also film the line up of lots of other guys in the drama studio. It all depends whether or not we can get the extra actors.

Thursday 3 March 2011

Update:

The group has been updating and editing our current footage of what we have filmed so far for our music video. It seems that we are still missing main sections of the video, but we plan to get it done through filming next week sometime.

Yesterday and today, we have been focusing on editing the footage, the beginning, the end, the bridge and one of the chorus's for the video. We have been making sure that the cuts are quick and accurate so that it links into the same rhythm of the music from the song. For the beginning of the video, to link to the fast beats of the music, we have implemented different jump shots of the artist to give a disorientating feel.

Editing can not be completed before we finished all the filming and we intend on adding effects to the footage.

Wednesday 2 March 2011

How We Keep In Touch

When we are not at school, we have found that a good way to keep in contact with each other is by texting so we text regularly to make sure we are on schedule and to remind each other of when we need to film and what we need to film.

Monday 28 February 2011

Update:

We have currently just come back from our half term break, therefore our group blog has not been updated recently. Whilst i was having my break, i went out and bought some sweets shaped as lips that we are going to use with the jump cuts of the artist forcing the "lies" which are to be represented by the sweet lips as it links to theme, into the guys mouth for him to eat his "lies" and showing that side of the artist being dominant and not taking any funny business with anyone.

Saturday 19 February 2011

Change in idea:

The group has decided to change the costume in some of the music video. Previously, we had three different costumes, a costume for the bridge, for the chorus and for the general narrative, to give diversity to the artist. However, the group decided to only have two different costumes, the patchy top with leggings, and the costume with another white top, with a black under top with leggings. The first costume will be used for the chorus and narrative, whereas the second costume will be used just for bridge.

We decided to do this change as we felt that the bridge could be made to be a different from the rest of the video. We intend on making the bridge of the song as if it is the "guys" unconsciousness of the artist as it is slower and we can make effects.

Glitter idea response

Yeah i know exactly what you mean.... With deciding on the idea of having the bridge being like a dream, i think its best to keep the glitter out of the narrative for sure :)

Friday 18 February 2011

Glitter

To Natasha D,

I was thinking, because the narrative is set in real life, I don't think we should have the glitter on her face. This would make it more obvious to the audience that the narrative is real life and the rest isn't. What do you think?

Natasha M

Thursday 17 February 2011

Idea:

In editing the footage that we have captured, we are currently editing the bridge of the song. In editing this section of the music video, we intend on making this section with the artist blurry with the use of effects and making lots of jump cuts.

I have come up with an idea in changing the sequence of the narrative of the video. I thought that as we are making the bridge into a dream like state with the blurred effects, I thought that the verse before the bridge could see the artist slapping the "guy" in the video. Therefore, as the bridge will follow this action through zooming into the "guys" face, it gives the perception that he is in a daze and he begins to dream about the artist, which links to the bridge section being blurry and jumpy.

The group likes this idea so therefore we will have to modify the storyboard of events and add this idea into  the music video.

Monday 14 February 2011

Song Download

Although we have the song on our iPods, we don't have it on the computer so I've downloaded the song 'Kiss N Tell' from the same album CD as the one we used to record so that the lip sync is completely the same.

I also have imported the clips that we have done so far which include:
- The walking down and up stairs for beginning of song
- Close up of eyes
- Bridge
- Chorus
I have also started putting this onto the time line on Final Cut so we can start the editing soon.

Organising filming:

The group has been currently been very busy and has not had much chance to film any crucial stages of the video. We are also still being faced with the problem of the location of the filming not being available when  we need it. However, we plan on filming the majority of the narrative, which includes the beginning and end of the song before the half term.

Next filming shoot:
Date: Friday 18th February
Location: Underneath flight of stairs "Dungeon"
Time: 10:00am to approx 12:00am
What will be filmed:
 - The "guys" reaction etc face
 - Close up shots of the artist, face, hand slamming the table etc
 - Artist walking into dungeon
 - Kicking the guy out of the dungeon

Props:
 - Ipod/Ipod speakers
 - Table/Chair
 - Tripod camera stand/Camera
 - A Male actor

Shots needed:
 - Close up shots
 - Low angle shot
 - High angle shot
 - Hand held camera shot

Response to Video Idea

To Natasha D,
That's deep! But a really good idea because I do think that our video is missing something fun and cute like that. I'll buy a few packs for our next filming session.

Natasha M

Friday 11 February 2011

Music video idea:

Hey Tash M,

I was thinking... seeing as our theme of the video is on love and the song is called "Kiss n Tell", i thought that near the end of the video, we could have different cuts of the artist and the "guy" that the artist is interrogating. I thought that to make the video light hearted we could have a shot of you force feeding the guy lips sweets with the use of quick close up shots.

The sweets could represent the lies that the guy has been feeding the artist and she is making him eat his "lies"back. Also, through researching other pop videos, they use jump cuts with close up shots, such as the maroon 5 video, "Misery", which sees intimacy between the singer and the girlfriend through much more sexual references. However, this would not be appropriate due to the target audience being 14 - 19 year olds.

What do you think?

Filming The Chorus

I think this was a successful session, we spent about 2 and a half hours filming and we got most of the shots that we needed. However, I think we might need to film a bit more as we don't have enough different material as we were in a rush because we had to give back the props to the different departments before they went home.

Once we have uploaded the filming onto the timeline, we can see how much we have and how much extra we need if we do.

Friday 4 February 2011

Filming:

Yesterday, the group decided to film the bridge of the song "Kiss N Tell". We decided to change location from the drama studios to the school hall in order to move our filming date closer. This section of the song is solely focused on the artist, therefore, the camera work was made to be intimate with the artist with low angle shots, close up shots etc.

Also, there was the need for lots of equipment that we had to carry around everywhere:

 - A Large Fan
 - Ipod speakers/Ipod
 - Tripod/Camera
 - Lots of electric cables

We are now currently uploading the footage that we have taken so far such as the bridge and the very beginning of our song. We are doing this because of the problems that we faced with uploading our preliminary footage a few weeks ago, where we thought we lost our footage because we did not upload our footage as soon as we filmed.

Wednesday 2 February 2011

Filming List for Bridge

Tuesday 1 February 2011

Problems with filming:

At the moment, the group are having the difficult problem of finding time to shoot long lengths for the music video. We have all the costumes ready and know exactly where we are shooting the different sections of the video. However, the problem we are currently facing is the location for the main narrative of the video. We are planning to set it in the drama studios, but are frequently occupied by other people. Therefore, we are having to change our plans often which is an aspect i will have to discuss with my partner.

Location Change

As we were unable to use the drama room due to it being in use for performances and rehearsal this month, we needed to use another location so we can start doing filming. I found that the hall was free to use most of the time. So we have decided to use that instead.

We can use this as it's a black curtain which is what we needed from the drama rooms anyway.

There are two of these blocks which can be used as a stage.

Response to Photoshoot

I thought the make up should have the obvious eye liner and mascara but also some glitter on her face. I thought a different pattern in the
1. Narrative
2. Bridge and
3. Chorus would have had the best out come.

However, I thought that this photo shoot was more successful then the last one as we produced more images that are useful and with an increase of character.
Also, I think the earrings were a good idea as Peace signs, it just goes with the whole hippy 'not caring' look.

Photoshoot

We have just taken some more photos for our album cover. We have changed the artists clothing and advanced her make up. We have decided to also use a different location for this photo shoot. Whilst taking the photos, we started to shoot the beginning of our music video.

Unavailability of location:

We have just found out that the group is unable to use the University green room in order to film the video. This is a result of the room not being at our access as easily as we had hoped. We thought that the use of the green room would allow us to add special effects for the bridge of the song as it is a green room, which sees the artist on her own for that section of the song, therefore, we needed to make it different to the rest of the song.

We felt that this would hinder our filming progress. However, we are not reluctant at the news as we still have other locations within school which will allow us to do our filming as successful as our previously planned location. We decided that we would be able to special edits of that footage with the program "Final Cut".

Hair idea response:

Hey Tash M,

I think your hair being back combed would be a good idea. It gives a much more feminine and different perception of you as the artist. It also links to other pop artists who have their hair in different styles to show their fashion sense toward the audience. You could also have drastic make up of some sort? or like a pattern on your face with glitter gel? Just something that makes you really outrageous and to show how your care free?

oh.... And the flower in your hair would be a good touch to the image :)

Hair Style

Hi Tasha D,

We haven't really thought of a hair style apart from just straight or curly however, I was at home trying to think of something a bit more fun and I tried out back combing my hair and took a few snaps...

So... that's it up at the back but we could have it out and with flowers in it maybe. I have a few flowers so I'll bring them in on Wednesday when we do a bit of filming and a photo shoot hopefully. Also, glitter like Kesha will make her stand out and we could use this as a homage to her! Tell me what you think. :)

Photos for Album Cover:

Yesterday, the group decided to do a photo shoot for our album cover that we will plan on making soon. We decided to do an array of different photos, with the artist in different poses and the use of different camera angles to personify her in the right light. These varied from close up shots to low angle shots all.

We have decided to focus on the artist for the album cover as this is a typical convention of a pop album covers. By focusing on the artist wholly, this will show her importance toward the audience and allows the audience to focus on her and not be distracted by anything else on the album cover. Here are a few of the images we took:

This is a conventional close up image. We wanted to make a 'V'
shape so we could edit the name onto the album cover in a more creative
way.
This image features a keyboard which shows the artist cares about
the music as much as she cares about being famous.
This image is a pose where the artist looks a bit crazy, which is the
type of artist we're trying to portray.

Location

The location of the music video will take place in our school drama studios and other sections of the school. Below, we have taken shots of the different settings and the props that we will use for the music video for the bridge, chorus and main narrative.

Artist Name:

The group is still debating about what we are going to call our music artist. We want to make sure that it is quirky, feminine and catchy allowing the audience to remember the artist in the future via merchandise. In trying to decide what to call our artist, we are accumulating ideas from other artists such as "Pixie Lott" or "Ellie Goulding" which are all stereotypical pop names which are unusual but is what we really want.

After much deliberation, we came up with the name, Violet Rowe. We then decided on this name as we felt that it was quirky, simple and catchy which is similar to many other pop artists. Also, we felt that "Violet" was a good name in terms of colour schemes for album covers and means of advertisement, where we would be able to use the colour purple and its different spectrums. Overall, the name is eye catching and can appeal to our target audience of young girls from 14 - 19 years old.

Costumes

We have also decided to use three different costumes for the music video to show the connotations of the themes through the clothing of the artist to the audience. Below are the different choices of costumes.

Out of all of the clothing, we decided to pick our final costume ideas...

Chorus:
We have decided to use the drama studios which also has a stage for this section of the video. This will show the artist performing on a stage with a microphone which is a typical convention of a pop genre music video. The artist will wear....

Bridge:
For the bridge, we are going to shoot this against a black brick wall in the drama studio because it fits in with the theme of interrogation. With this location, we will be able to edit this shot with effects as it is the main focus on the artist from the song. The artist will wear...

Narrative:
For the narrative, we have decided to create a casual look for the artist. However, we have still kept to the theme of interrogation through the army boots and the top which looks like prison bars. This will be the main costume of the music video.

Filming the Video:

We plan to shoot shots for the video very soon. We have a number of different locations for filming, which vary from the drama studios in the school to gaining access in a green room at a university's media department which will enable us to get effective shots for the video, especially sections of the video when the artist is on her own, as we will be able to put special effects on those shots.

Image ideas for the artist in the music video:

The group also decided to give the artists image a slight twist, making it similar to most pop artists but giving it a sense of originality and giving the image uniqueness. Therefore, in the music video, we intend on using an array of clothing for the artist, whilst also making a feature of the artist stand out. An idea that the group had was to use, for example, putting large false eye lashes on the singer, which could be used successfully on the album cover, as it would make the artist album stand out on the shelf and would allow consumers to see the artists originality.

Artist Image Ideas:

During the planning of the storyboard, the group decided to think about the artist and the image that we wanted to portray her with. As the artist is female and the song is in the genre of pop, we have decided to create the artist to have a personality with attitude, portray as her being an experimenter with life and someone who lives a care free lifestyle, conventional to most pop artists. When arranging the artists clothing and style, we intend on using the outlines of other pop artists, below, to successfully convey the image by making it trendy and fashionable.
